MAINTENANCE OFFICER (AIRPORT) - 14000709
Organize, direct, and control all the technical activities to ensure smooth running of the workshops at single/ multiple locations (as applicable). Ensure that all technical activities and the maintenance and repairs of all equipment and facilities are done in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and schedules. Meet the prime objective of providing the customer departments with fully serviceable, reliable and safe equipment & facilities to meet operational requirements, safety and quality standards. The job holder will be responsible for monitoring and controlling repairs / maintenance by detailed inspection of the work carried out ensuring cost effectiveness and high standard of service.
Job Outline:
- Organise, direct and control the workshop activities to ensure optimum availability of serviceable, reliable and safe equipment to achieve on time and error free completion of each associated task.
- Ensure details about materials used and man-hours are correctly recorded on the work order by the concerned sections enabling planning to update the maintenance management system and provide accurate maintenance cost reports.
- Coordinate with section supervisors, planning section, stores and P & L buyers in order to ensure availability of spares and materials needed for equipment serviceability.
- Organise and perform maintenance checks on all equipment and facilities, machines and tools used in the workshop in order to optimize the life span and ensure operational reliability.
- Continually suggest any modifications needed to improve the performance and reliability of the equipment and find solutions for repetitive breakdowns across the fleet of equipment. Ensure correct implementation of approved modifications. Periodically review the scheduled maintenance task lists and suggest amendments where necessary to the Planning section
- Train and guide the technicians on maintenance techniques, fault diagnosis and repair, use of different tools and machines, safe working techniques to ensure the development of skills, safety and ergonomics at work. The job holder is expected to organise induction and on job familiarisation for new staff. He should be able to innovate and implement new techniques and methods to make the training interactive and interesting.
- Ensure that the staff roster and annual leave plans are prepared taking into consideration the manpower required to perform the scheduled maintenance tasks. The job holder is responsible for conducting performance reviews for the supervisors and is the reviewer for the technicians. He has to ensure that all staff in the workshop abides by the workshop safety regulation and discipline is maintained in the workshop.
- Utilize the Maintenance Management System effectively for monitoring the progress of workshop activities, work order approval, material requisition authorization, analyzing performance indices & preparing reports for management review.
- The job holder will carry out the final inspection and sign off in the maintenance management system all workshop activities making sure they meet the quality standards and procedures as prescribed by DNATA AIRPORT EMS Manual to ensure error free work is produced. He is required to continually review the processes and suggest recommendations to the Quality Conformance Supervisor to update the relevant manuals.
- Assist the manager during the budget preparation by furnishing the manpower, materials, and tools requirement to forecast future requirements of workshop.
- Engineering.Maintenance Control : 5+ Years
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
- With working experience in maintenance of heavy duty equipment in a similar sized workshop of which at least 2 years should have been in a supervisory position.
- Knowledge/skills: Must have theoretical and practical knowledge of equipment operations, maintenance and engineering.
- Proven ability to supervise a team of technicians (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & electronic etc).
- Ability to read and understand manufacturer specifications and maintenance requirements.
- Ability to prepare mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings for ground equipment workshop or electrical & electronic circuit diagrams, write & debug PLC software.
- Formal training in general safety procedures, fire fighting, supervisory skills, first aid and awareness of the ISO certification process is an advantage.
- Must possess or capable of obtaining a UAE Driving Licence.
